Author's Background: Manuel Estabillo Arguilla (1911-1944) was born on June 17, 1911 in Nagrebcan, Bauang, La Union. Manuel Estabillo Arguilla was an Ilokano writer in English, patriot, and martyr.

Exposition: The story starts with Leon and his wife, Maria, arrived at the barrio. Maria then meets Baldo, Leon's younger brother, to take Leon and Maria home.

Rising Action: On their way home, Maria was afraid Leon's father will not accept her because she might not be able to cope with the life of their family because Maria is from the city while Leon's family is in the province. 

Climax: On the way home, Baldo is ignoring Leon's question about why did they have to go to a waig instead of camino real. Because father wanted to find out if Maria is really worthy of living in a rural place.

Falling Action: When they got home. Baldo and his father is having a conversation talking about what happened on their way home. He answered every question his father asked him. He even told his father that they sang a song. The title of the song is Sky sown with the stars.

Ending: The door opened and Leon and Maria entered the room. Father then asked if Baldo watered Labang, and told Baldo it is time to give Labang a water. 

Symbolism: The symbolism in this story, i think is Maria. Maria symbolizes endurance, because crossing through a waig is hard enough for a city girl like her. She had to endure the journey to achieved what she wants, to be accepted.

Theme: The theme of the story is to endure whatever is coming for you. Just like the travel Maria had. 

Lesson: The lesson in this story is to be strong all time. be patient. All the struggles will be worth it if you wait.
